Ice maker: Operation and main benefits.

The use of ice is fundamental in certain areas of the industrial and health sector. That is why it is easy to find ice machines in hospitals, fish sales or restaurants.

How does the ice maker work?

The water comes from an outer source and rises through a tremendously icy metallic coating, which, in less than 60 seconds converts the water into ice columns. A spiral of stainless steel is responsible for climbing the ice to the top of the machine, where a rotating arm is responsible for splitting the columns turning them into cubes and sending them towards the freezer where they are stored.

Thanks to a sensor located on the freezer and inside the machine, the machine will stop making ice when the freezer where they are stored no longer have enough space to host more cubes. These cubes can be of different shapes since according to the ice machine, they can come out in one way or another but the most usual cubes are the cubes of square and cylindrical ice, although it can also be dispensed in the form of scales or “chopped”.

The ice in scales, unlike the cubes, is presented in the form of small pieces irregularly. Normally this type of ice was obtained crushed ice on bars, although this method has been obsolete because it is little efficient economically and energetically speaking.

Utility of the manufacturer

First, it is possible to manufacture a large amount per day, approximately 450kg of cubes in 24 hours. This means that you will never lack supply since you can manufacture it in a short time and continuously. Additionally, the use of the manufacturer will allow you to save energy, since the freezer you use to keep more energy consume than the manufacturer, and that means more costs.

Manufacturing machines are, nowadays, an essential piece in the best laboratories and hospitals in the world. And it is that the ice that produce is a great ally for most health sector professionals. As a result, most health centers, laboratories, hospitals and research centers include in their equipment an ice maker, whether of cubes or granular ice.

In this sense, it is important to highlight the applications in this sector. You can use both ice in cubes, massifs and compact; As a granular, which is more moldable, according to the different applications and uses to which it is destined. The type of ice that is used will depend on needs and both one and another are usual for medical use.

In hospitals the ice is used in different areas, as in traumatology or in physiotherapy, as a natural method for the reduction of inflammation; o In organ transplantation, where it is essential to preserve and store organs in perfect condition.

On the other hand, the diagnostic laboratories that perform analytics, take tissue samples, or the research centers, need granular ice to preserve the samples.

Where to install the manufacturer?

It is important that the machine is in a place that is not very hot, but neither excessively cold. Therefore, in the kitchens, it is recommended to place it as far as possible from ovens and other machines that give away heat. Of course, the place must be easily accessible to easily connect with electricity and water and with enough space so that the machine can be refrigerated naturally.
