Kalstein Optical Refractometers: Accuracy and quality in your measurements

Kalstein optical laboratory refractometers represent the leading edge in technology and precision for the measurement of various solutions. This article takes a detailed look at their features and technical specifications.

Kalstein Brix Refractometers

The Brix category of Kalstein optical refractometers includes models (YR05872- YR05884) with measuring ranges from 0-5% Brix to 0-90% Brix. All these models are characterized by a high accuracy of ±0.10%Brix up to ±1.0%Brix. In addition, they all feature the ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) function that adjusts in an ambient from 10 to 30°C. These devices are exclusively made of pure aluminum, which makes them sturdy and durable. https://kalstein.net/en/product/brix-refractometers-yr05872-yr05884/

The models vary in their measuring range, accuracy and minimum division, allowing them to adapt to different work scenarios. All of them are made of pure aluminum and with ATC technology that facilitates making temperature corrections between 10-30°C.

Kalstein Salinity Refractometers

The Kalstein salinity refractometer is designed to test the concentration of salt water and brine and is used for quality control in clinical and research laboratories and the marine industry. Its scale provides a direct reading of the specific gravity and concentration (part per thousand) of salt in water. One scale tests NaCl levels with the range of 0-100 ppt and the other scale measures specific gravity with a range of 1,000 to 1,070. Both allow direct determination of salinity in water containing dissolved salt and few or no other dissolved solids.

For precise analysis of salinity levels, Kalstein models offer both specific gravity and salinity measurement (YR05887- YR05914). These instruments have measurement ranges starting from 2-4% (20ppt-40ppt) to 0-28% (0-280ppt) for salinity and offer an accuracy of ±0.1% (1ppt) and ±0.2% for salinity. Also made of pure aluminum, they ensure durability and resistance to the wear and tear of daily use. https://kalstein.net/en/product/salinity-refractometers-yr05887-yr05914/

Kalstein ATC Car Refractometers

The ATC models are equipped with a °C unit system. With the percentage indication we can know the freezing point of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based cooling systems. And they can also be used to test the concentration of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol in antifreeze liquids. There is also an additional scale for measuring the freezing point of windshield washer fluid.

These models (YR05916- YR05930) are versatile and beneficial for automotive fluid checks and maintenance. The devices measure both specific gravity and temperatures, with ranges from -60°C to -50°C and an accuracy of ±5℃ and ±0.01sg. Like the previous ones, these are also made of pure aluminum, providing durability and strength. https://kalstein.net/en/product/atc-car-refractometers-yr05916-yr05930/

Kalstein Beer Refractometers

For brewers, Kalstein offers a range of optical refractometers (YR05939- YR05943) that measure both Brix content and wort specific gravity in ranges of 0-32% Brix and 1,000 ~ 1,130 Wort Specific Gravity. With an accuracy of ±0.2% Brix and ±0.001 Must Specific Gravity, these devices promise measurement accuracy while also incorporating ATC function between 10 and 30° C in a durable pure aluminum body. https://kalstein.net/en/product/beer-refractometers-yr05939-yr05943/

Kalstein’s optical laboratory refractometers offer an accurate measurement solution for a wide range of applications. Whether you are measuring Brix in the food industry, salinity in an aquarium, fluids in your car, or specific gravity of wort in the brewing process, you can rely on these instruments to provide you with the accurate results you need for your quality work.
