Types of Freeze Dryers that a Laboratory may need
Food Freeze Dryer
The freeze dryer consists of three parts, a dry chamber, a condenser and a vacuum system. To freeze-dry a product, it must be previously frozen, then introduced into the freeze-dryer, with a temperature below -40°C, where a vacuum pump will reduce the pressure of the sample. Once the temperature is reduced, the water will freeze and the pressure will drop, changing from solid to vapor state, through sublimation.
Freeze-drying is a process that helps to obtain instant coffee, converting it into soluble granules that, when in contact with water, acquire their properties once again.
