Freeze-drying of feedingstuffs
Freeze drying is a method of drying a substance at very low temperatures, to separate the liquid from it, by the process of sublimation. This technique is especially....
A laboratory freeze dryer is a tool commonly used to preserve biological material, usually pharmaceuticals, as well as food and industrial products. The laboratory freeze dryer, more commonly known as freeze drying, freeze drying and pressure sublimation equipment, is used to completely dry a product and preserve it for extended periods of time.
Using this tool, a user can desiccate a product to reduce the amount of water in the product and preserve essential nutrients as well as product quality. This tool is ideal for pharmaceutical companies and any other company that needs to preserve a product in optimal conditions.
The freeze dryer consists of three parts, a dry chamber, a condenser and a vacuum system. To freeze-dry a product, it must be previously frozen, then introduced into the freeze-dryer, with a temperature below -40°C, where a vacuum pump will reduce the pressure of the sample. Once the temperature is reduced, the water will freeze and the pressure will drop, changing from solid to vapor state, through sublimation.
Freeze-drying is a process that helps to obtain instant coffee, converting it into soluble granules that, when in contact with water, acquire their properties once again.
A laboratory freeze dryer is a practical and effective tool for preserving foods, drugs and industrial products that are to be kept for long periods of time. This tool is becoming increasingly popular in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing because it offers an effective way to preserve products while keeping them safe for the consumer. This ensures that the final product meets the standards set by the industry. Finally, this equipment is becoming increasingly common in laboratories, clinics and other environments where high quality biological products need to be preserved.
